Personal injury: Collision involving semi injures 3, kills 1

| Sep 28, 2017 | Personal Injury |

Motor vehicle accidents involving tractor-trailers can be devastating, potentially resulting in serious injuries for everyone involved, or worse. Those who suffer severe harm under similar circumstances could choose to pursue compensation through a personal injury claim. A recent accident involving a semi has left three individuals with injuries, and claimed the life of another in Washington.

According to reports, the incident took place on a recent Monday afternoon as the driver of a tractor-trailer was attempting to change lanes. An initial investigation suggests that the driver failed to notice a vehicle in the other lane, and subsequently struck it, forcing it to spin out of control. The truck then proceeded to hit another vehicle, which then collided with a fence beside the road.

Four individuals were reportedly injured in the process, one of whom is in critical condition, while another was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Although an investigation into the incident was initiated, no further information was given as to what may have caused it to take place. Each driver has a duty of care on the road to protect the safety of others, and any form of negligence can cause a disaster.

When one is forced to suffer serious injuries, or the loss of a loved one, due to the negligence of another party, he or she may wish to pursue restitution through the civil justice system. Since the process can be difficult to navigate alone, an individual could speak with a personal injury attorney for assistance. An attorney can examine the situation and assist a client in Washington in pursuing the full amount of compensation to which he or she is entitled.
