Intoxicated driving often involves high risk of personal injury

Countless individuals have been injured over the years in collisions involving an intoxicated driver. A person who chooses to operate a vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol often puts the safety of everyone nearby in danger. Collisions that occur under similar circumstances can be catastrophic, resulting in serious personal injury or worse. A recent two-car accident in Washington left four people with injuries.

Reportedly, the crash took place just after 10 p.m. when an eastbound vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a westbound truck. There were four individuals in the vehicle at the time, all of which were injured in the process. The driver of the truck was also injured in the crash and taken to a hospital, and both vehicles were apparently totaled.

Initial investigations suggest that drugs and/or alcohol may have been a factor in the collision. Over the years, intoxicated drivers have been the cause of numerous collisions involving vehicles that cross into the wrong lane. If a driver is deemed culpable in a similar accident, resulting in the injury of another, the victim may be entitled to compensation accordingly.

Individuals who are seriously injured in accidents of this nature may wish to seek restitution through the civil justice system, but they may be unsure how to proceed. When facing such a difficult situation, many choose to speak with an experienced attorney for assistance in the process. An attorney in Washington can assist an individual in pursuing compensation through a personal injury claim against the party deemed at fault.
