Car accidents: 2 killed after truck crosses median in Washington

| Oct 24, 2018 | Personal Injury |

The untimely death of a family member can be a challenging thing to accept, especially when the loss comes as the result of another party’s negligent actions. Fatal car accidents have left far too many families mourning over the sudden and unexpected loss of someone dear. A man could be facing criminal charges following a recent collision that claimed the lives of two women in Washington.

The accident is said to have occurred on a recent Friday morning when the driver of a westbound truck lost control and crossed through the median. Upon entering the opposite lanes of traffic, his truck proceeded to collide with a nearby car. Both the driver and passenger of the car reportedly suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the truck also suffered injuries in the crash and was taken to a hospital soon thereafter. Although an investigation is underway, no further information was provided concerning what might have caused him to cross over the median. However, authorities have advised that he will likely be facing charges for vehicular homicide once the investigation into the incident comes to a close.

Those who experience loss in fatal car accidents involving negligent drivers may wish to exercise their rights to seek accountability through the civil justice system. Even with the presence of criminal charges, the process can be intimidating and complex, and a person in Washington could benefit from seeking assistance early on. An attorney can evaluate the incident and assist a person in pursuing the restitution deserved through a wrongful death claim against the party deemed at fault.
