Gregory F. Cromwell, a partner of the firm, has over 30 years of experience in representing condominium and single family dwelling homeowners' associations, and currently represents over 100 such associations.  He is a member of the Community Association Institute, a national organization which focuses exclusively on association issues and information.  He speaks at seminars sponsored by property management companies regarding timely Association issues.  He and his department's representation of associations includes, among other services:

• Interpretation and advice regarding enforcement of covenants and other governing documents.
• Assistance with collection of unpaid assessments:
  1. letters to owners;
  2. preparation and recording of assessment liens;
  3. preparation and filing of releases or satisfactions of liens, once payment is made by the owner;
  4. recovery of attorneys' fees incurred by the Association as part of the collection efforts.
• Assistance with enforcing compliance with covenants:
  1. letters to owners;
  2. personal contact with owners.
• Filing and prosecution of litigation regarding:
  1. assessments collection (including recovery of the Association's attorneys' fees incurred before and during the litigation);
  2. covenant interpretation and application;
  3. covenant compliance/injunctive relief.
• Advice and assistance with drafting documents and handling issues regarding:
  1. governing documents [covenants, articles, bylaws, rules & regulations];
  2. amendments to governing documents;
  3. meeting documents:
              - proxies;
              - minutes;
              - other documents relating to Board meetings and actions.

• Attendance at Board meetings from time to time, as requested, to assist with issues/advice;
• Attendance at annual owners'meetings from time to time, as requested, to assist with answering questions and procedural issues, often speaking about the roles, duties and responsibilities of serving as a Board member for an association;
• Conducting training sessions with new Board members of associations regarding their role and duties as a Director of a homeowners' association.

In providing such services to association clients we work with many professional property management companies and property managers, and also directly with Board's of associations without professional management.
