Sara K. Wahl joined Hanis Irvine Prothero in 2004 focusing her practice solely on family law, and Collaborative Law and other family law.  Before joining Hanis Irvine Prothero, she started and ran her own law firm in Seattle practicing family, criminal and personal injury law.

Sara is currently one of few attorneys qualified to practice Collaborative Family Law in the South King County area; Collaborative Law is a newly emerging field in Washington; it is a method of resolving family law disputes in a non-adversarial way, without the use of court intervention.

Sara has handled many family law cases from simple non-contested dissolutions and child support modifications, to complex custody and/or property trials, parenting plan modifications, relocations, and domestic violence cases. Sara is a professionally trained mediator, as well as a Title 26 Family Law Guardian ad Litem. Sara has been on the Washington State Bar Association's Lawyer's Assistance Program Committee since 2003. Sara volunteers at the King County Bar Association’s Greenwood Family Law Clinic as well as at the Family Law Information Center at the King County Superior Court. Since becoming a member of the Bar, Sara has received the Pro Bono Service Commendation every year for providing pro bono legal services to low income clients.

In her free time, Sara enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and competitive board game playing. She also enjoys spending time with her two highly intelligent Scottish Terriers, Fergus and Maggie.
