Congratulations to Lee Thomas!

Lee Thomas was selected by his Seattle University School of Law 2008 graduating classmates as class speaker at the Law School’s Commencement ceremony.  Being selected to deliver the commencement class address is the highest honor a graduating law school class can bestow on a fellow graduate.

Graduation of the 300 members of the 2008 Seattle University Law School Class was on May 17 at Safeco Field.  In his address to the graduates, their families and friends, Lee honored not only his own family, but also the exceptional professors who were important to the success of the 2008 Class.  His speech, well seasoned with Lee’s particular brand of good humor and sincerety, was clearly a highlight for the large audience in attendance.  He gave particular emphasis to the duty of the graduates to use their education to advance justice. And for the icing on the cake, Lee was also recognized for his academic achievements as a Cum Laude graduate.

Lee’s wife, Courtnei, was also recognized for her contribution to Lee’s successes.  Courtnei is one year behind Lee in Law School, has compiled an academic record few can match, and did that while bringing two beautiful daughters into the world - Eleanor and Pearl (whom we fully expect to be honoring in about 25 years when they graduate from law school!).  Courtnei and Lee Thomas – a true power couple!

Lee has been a legal intern for the past two years with Hanis Irvine Prothero, and upon his admission to the Bar, is expected to join the firm as a litigation and transactional attorney in the areas of  real estate and land use, business, education, civil rights, and Federal claims.

The ability to attract law school graduates of Lee’s caliber is considered by the firm to be the key to its future growth and success, and we are proud that Lee has chosen Hanis Irvine Prothero.
