While every motor vehicle accident has the chance of ending in disaster, those that take place at high speeds run a greater risk of proving harmful, or even fatal. Individuals who encounter a speeding driver may also be left with little time to respond and react to such negligent behavior. One man has been arrested following a high-speed car accident that killed another man in Washington.

According to authorities, the incident took place on a recent Sunday at around 3:45 p.m. Initial investigations indicate that a man was driving his car north at a high rate of speed when he lost control and slammed into a parked car. His vehicle then proceeded to strike another vehicle, causing the other driver to suffer serious injuries and become trapped within his vehicle.

Upon arriving at the scene, emergency responders worked to free the man from his vehicle and rushed him to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he passed away shortly after arriving. Police say that the driver who caused the collision attempted to flee the scene on foot. He was located and arrested later on and he is now facing charges for vehicular homicide.

A fatal car accident can be a traumatic incident that may leave family members in search of guidance on their available options to pursue restitution. Upon encountering such a loss, a person could choose to retain the services of an attorney for guidance on the next steps to take. An attorney can assist a client in Washington in seeking the full amount of restitution entitled through a wrongful death claim against the party deemed at fault.
