Losing a loved one in a tragic accident is something no family should have to endure. Unfortunately, motor vehicle collisions are far too common, each of which has the potential to end in disaster. Victims of similar incidents often experience periods of financial struggle, prompting many to seek relief through a personal injury claim. A recent accident in Washington has claimed the life of three individuals and injured several more.

The accident occurred in the early hours of the morning on a recent Thursday when a vehicle apparently hit a van at an intersection. The van was pushed off of the road and rolled over multiple times, and several passengers were apparently ejected in the process. According to police, three of the individuals in the van died shortly after the accident, while all others involved were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

Although there was no indication of the exact cause of the collision, an investigation is likely underway. Accidents that take place at intersections are often the result of one driver’s failure to observe applicable traffic laws. In the event that a driver is found at fault in a similar collision, the victim could seek to hold him or her accountable financially through the civil justice system.

When an individual is seriously injured or worse in a collision as a result of another party’s negligent actions, victims — or surviving family members of deceased victims — could choose to pursue compensation for injuries and/or losses. Since this can be challenging to achieve alone, victims in Washington often choose to speak with a personal injury attorney for assistance in the process. An attorney can evaluate the incident and assist a client in pursuing the full amount of compensation possible through a claim against the party or parties deemed culpable.
