Many individuals avoid operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, often placing a great deal of importance on safety when out on the road. Collisions involving drunk drivers have led to the personal injury and/or death of many individuals over the years. A recent accident in Washington involving a suspected drunken driver has left two people hospitalized with serious injuries.

The accident occurred in the early hours of the morning in front of a local store. The road was closed while investigation into the incident was underway. Police have advised that it was a head-on collision, and that alcohol may have been a factor. Both drivers were alone at the time, and were both taken to the hospital after suffering serious injuries in the crash.

When a person is seriously injured in an accident, he or she will likely face many hardships. Medical costs can be extensive, and if forced to take time off work, loss of wages can quickly make the situation challenging to overcome. In a similar accident, the victim often has no control over the situation, and he or she may find it difficult to accept. If the other driver is believed to be at fault in the collision, claims for full financial accountability may be pursued.

Victims of similar accidents may choose to seek restitution for losses through the civil justice system. This can be complex, prompting many individuals to seek legal counsel for assistance in the process. When facing a similar situation, victims in Washington often speak with an experienced attorney for advice on how to file a personal injury claim against the party deemed at fault.
