Peter B. Wilburn recently joined Gregory F. Cromwell and Jennifer R. Hill in the HOA practice group of Hanis Irvine Prothero. Peter obtained his undergraduate degree at Pacific Lutheran University in Theater with a minor in music, and spent four years as a stage manager at regional theaters in the Midwest. Peter returned to the northwest and obtained his law degree from Gonzaga University in 2008. In law school Peter was an Associate Editor of the Gonzaga Law Review, was a finalist in the Linden Cup intra-school moot court competition, and placed second nationally for his brief for the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition. While in law school, Peter worked as a Rule 9 intern for Eric Steven, with whom he co-authored Applying the FDCPA to Landlord-Tenant Relations, Washington State Trial Lawyers Association Newsletter (now the Washington State Association for Justice), June, 2007.

After law school Peter practiced as a solo attorney gaining diverse experience including landlord-tenant law, disability law and criminal appeals. In 2011 he joined Condominium Law Group, PLLC in Seattle, where he represented Condominium and Homeowner Associations in general legal and collections.

Peter has over three years of experience advising community associations on both general counsel and collections issues. While Peter has experience in advising clients on governing document issues including Declarations, Amendments, Bylaws and Rules and Regulations, his emphasis has been on collections work. Peter’s strong background in landlord-tenant law helps him emphasize the ability of Associations to use the real property to their advantage in collections of assessments using receiverships and foreclosures of liens.

Peter enjoys singing, watching football, hiking, camping, running and playing tennis. He loves spending time with his wife, daughter, and their dog.
